These are the machined metal components of an air shock absorber: the aluminum body tube, threaded end caps, piston and steel shaft. They are turned and milled to the customer's drawing, then anodized or plated. The parts suit suspension brands and builders who assemble their own air shocks and need accurately bored bodies and sealing grooves rather than a finished catalog unit.

- Seal-ready bores with checked surface roughness
- Hard anodized 6061 or 7075 aluminum bodies
- Chrome-plated or stainless steel shafts
- Seal grooves cut to your seal supplier's spec

## How we make it
Body tubes are bored on CNC lathes and finished to a fine surface where seals run, because roughness on the bore wears seals quickly. O-ring and seal grooves are cut with form tools to the seal maker's dimensions. End caps are turned, threaded and milled with wrench flats or spanner holes. Shafts are turned from steel bar and polished or chrome plated.

6061-T6 aluminum is standard for bodies and caps; 7075-T6 is used when wall thickness must be minimized under high air pressure. Hard anodizing (Type III, typically 25–50 µm) gives a wear-resistant bore surface, while Type II color anodizing suits external caps. Shafts are usually carbon or alloy steel with hard chrome, or stainless steel for corrosion resistance. Rubber bumpers and bladders are sourced to specification.

Bore diameter, groove dimensions and thread fit are inspected on each part, and roughness on sealing surfaces is checked with a tester. First-article reports are available. Buyers use these components for car and truck air suspension, show car builds, off-road air shocks and replacement parts for discontinued shock models that are no longer serviced.

## FAQ
### Do you supply complete air shocks or only machined parts?
Our core work is the machined metal components: bodies, caps, pistons, shafts and mounts made to your drawings. Rubber and seal parts can be sourced to your specification, and simple assembly can be discussed. Performance tuning, valving and pressure rating remain the design owner's responsibility, so we work from a defined drawing package.

### What surface finish is needed on an air shock bore?
Seal manufacturers commonly ask for a bore roughness around Ra 0.2–0.4 µm for dynamic seals, with no spiral tool marks. We achieve this by fine boring and, if required, honing or polishing before anodizing. Please include the seal supplier's groove and surface recommendations on the drawing so we can match them.

### How do I get a quote for machined aluminum air shock absorber body and end caps?
Send a 3D model (STEP or IGES) and a 2D drawing with tolerances, material, finish and quantity through the quote form or by email. An engineer replies within 24 hours on business days with price, lead time and any DFM suggestions.
