# CNC Milled Anodized Aluminum and Stainless Steel Brackets

Category: CNC Milling Parts
URL: https://www.machined-parts-factory.com/products/cnc-milling-parts/cnc-milled-anodized-aluminum-and-stainless-steel-brackets/

These are custom mounting brackets, angle plates and clamps CNC milled from solid aluminum or stainless steel. Aluminum versions are usually anodized, stainless versions passivated or bead-blasted, and hole patterns are held to 0.01–0.05 mm. They are for OEM and ODM product teams that need brackets stiffer and more precise than bent sheet metal can offer.

- Machined from plate with no springback
- Dowel-located second setup keeps holes aligned
- Anodized aluminum or passivated stainless
- Mounting-face flatness checked on surface plate

## How we make it
Machined brackets are cut from plate so the material has no bend radii or springback, which allows sharp inside corners, varying wall thickness and integrated bosses. We fixture on the largest flat face, machine the primary mounting holes and datum edges, then flip with dowel location so second-side features stay aligned. Counterbores, tapped holes and slots are cut in the same setups.

Aluminum 6061-T6 is about one-third the density of steel and is the common choice when weight matters; anodizing adds corrosion resistance and color. Stainless 304 is heavier but stronger and better for outdoor, wash-down or high-temperature mounts. When the choice is between a machined and a bent bracket, machining costs more per part but avoids tooling and holds hole positions more tightly.

Hole positions are measured on CMM at first article, and flatness of mounting faces is checked with a dial indicator on a surface plate. Critical dimensions are 100% inspected in production, and threads are gauged after anodizing. Typical uses are motor and sensor brackets, linear rail mounts, camera clamps, panel supports and fixture components.

## FAQ
### Should my bracket be machined or made from bent sheet metal?
Choose bent sheet metal for thin, uniform brackets in higher volumes, where it is cheaper. Choose a machined bracket when you need thick sections, sharp inside corners, integrated bosses or hole positions tighter than about ±0.1 mm across bends. Machining also has no tooling cost for small batches.

### Do anodized threads still fit standard screws?
Yes when handled correctly. Anodizing slightly tightens threads, so we either mask tapped holes or chase them after coating, then check with go/no-go gauges. Specify any threads that must stay bare or conductive on the drawing.

### How do I get a quote for cnc milled anodized aluminum and stainless steel brackets?
Send a 3D model (STEP or IGES) and a 2D drawing with tolerances, material, finish and quantity through the quote form or by email. An engineer replies within 24 hours on business days with price, lead time and any DFM suggestions.
