Category: Sheet Metal Fabrication
URL: https://www.machined-parts-factory.com/products/sheet-metal-fabrication/polished-and-painted-stainless-steel-sheet-metal-parts/

This service produces sheet metal fabrications in stainless steel and aluminum through laser cutting, CNC bending and welding, followed by polishing, painting, plating or powder coating. Typical fabrication tolerance is 0.05–0.10 mm on cut features, with samples usually within 7 days. It suits appliance, display and equipment brands that need finished, presentation-quality metal parts from one source.

- Protective film kept on through forming
- Welds ground flush before finishing
- Mirror, brushed, painted or powder-coated
- Individually wrapped show parts

## How we make it
Polished and painted parts reveal every scratch, so handling is planned from cutting onward: protective film stays on show faces through laser cutting and bending, and press-brake tooling is padded or urethane-lined where marks would show. Welds on visible surfaces are ground flush and blended before finishing. Polishing is done in stages, from coarse to fine abrasives, to reach a consistent satin or mirror surface.

Mirror-polished 304 stainless suits decorative trim and food-equipment surfaces, while brushed No. 4 finish hides fingerprints better. Wet painting allows exact color matching and fine textures; powder coating is thicker and more impact-resistant. Plating such as chrome or nickel is used on steel parts for appearance. Aluminum can be anodized or painted. Each finish adds cost and lead time, so specify only where it is seen.

Finished parts are inspected visually under consistent lighting for scratches, orange peel and color, and coating thickness is measured. Dimensions are checked at first article and critical features 100% inspected. Parts are wrapped individually for transport. Typical uses include appliance fronts, retail display fixtures, elevator panels, kitchen equipment and signage.

## FAQ
### Mirror polish or brushed finish for stainless panels?
Mirror polish gives a reflective, high-end look but shows fingerprints and scratches readily. A brushed No. 4 grain hides marks and is easier to maintain, which is why it dominates appliances and kitchen equipment. We can supply finish samples before production.

### Paint or powder coat for sheet metal parts?
Powder coating is thicker, tougher and more chip-resistant, making it the default for equipment and outdoor parts. Wet paint allows thinner coats, finer textures and closer color matching, useful for cosmetic consumer products. Both are available in custom colors.

### How do I get a quote for polished and painted stainless steel sheet metal parts?
Send a 3D model (STEP or IGES) and a 2D drawing with tolerances, material, finish and quantity through the quote form or by email. An engineer replies within 24 hours on business days with price, lead time and any DFM suggestions.
