Powder Coated Laser Cut Stainless Steel Panels

These are laser cut and bent sheet metal panels, covers and fascia in stainless steel or aluminum, finished with powder coating in custom RAL colors and textures. Profiles, perforations and bends are produced to drawing, with hardware inserted as needed. They are for equipment, kiosk and appliance builders who need durable colored panels without the cost of stamping tools.

Manufacturing

How we make this part

Process, material options and inspection for powder coated laser cut stainless steel panels.

Panels are cut on fiber lasers, which handle decorative perforations and tight internal corners in stainless and aluminum. After bending, edges and laser dross are cleaned so the powder coat lays evenly. Parts are pretreated, which matters on stainless because powder does not bond well to smooth passive surfaces without preparation. Coating is sprayed electrostatically and cured in an oven.

Powder coating is typically 60–120 µm thick and gives impact-resistant color in matte, satin, gloss or textured finishes. Stainless panels are often coated for color while keeping the corrosion-resistant substrate; aluminum panels are lighter and also coat well. Holes, threads and contact faces are masked. Brushed stainless with no coating is an alternative for clean, industrial appearances.

Coating thickness is measured with gauges, adhesion tested by cross-hatch on samples, and color checked against approved RAL chips. Panels are visually inspected on all show faces and packed with foam separators. Critical dimensions are 100% inspected. Typical uses include machine covers, kiosk panels, appliance fronts, control cabinet doors and display housings.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Why powder coat stainless steel?

Stainless already resists corrosion, so coating it is mainly for color, texture or branding. The stainless substrate means that if the coating chips, the part will not rust underneath. It is a common choice for outdoor kiosks and premium machine covers.

How thick is powder coating, and does it affect fit?

Powder coating is typically 60–120 µm. That thickness affects tight-fitting slots, tabs and threads, so we mask threads, contact areas and fits, or allow for the coating in the cut dimensions. Mark any surfaces that must stay bare on the drawing.

How do I get a quote for powder coated laser cut stainless steel panels?

Send a 3D model (STEP or IGES) and a 2D drawing with tolerances, material, finish and quantity through the quote form or by email. An engineer replies within 24 hours on business days with price, lead time and any DFM suggestions.
