CNC Machined 3K Carbon Fiber UAV Drone Arm

This is a custom UAV drone arm machined from 3K carbon fiber sheet, with motor-mount hole patterns, frame attachment holes and weight-saving cutouts cut to ±0.05 mm. Arms are supplied to your outline and thickness for quadcopter, hexacopter or octocopter frames. They are designed for drone developers who need replacement or new-design arms that are stiff, light and consistent from batch to batch.

How we make this part

Process, material options and inspection for cnc machined 3k carbon fiber uav drone arm.

Arms carry motor thrust and crash loads, so we keep the cut path continuous around stress areas and avoid sharp internal corners that start cracks. Cutting uses diamond-coated end mills at controlled feed, with the sheet held flat on a vacuum fixture. Motor patterns, such as 16 x 16 mm or 19 x 19 mm, are drilled in the same program as the outline for accurate alignment.

3K twill carbon is the default for arms; thicker sheet raises stiffness and crash resistance at the cost of weight. Arms longer than about 200 mm may benefit from tube construction instead of flat plate, which we can discuss. Edges are chamfered to reduce wire chafing, and optional epoxy edge sealing helps resist splitting. Gloss or matte faces are available.

Hole patterns and arm length are verified on a vision system at first article and spot-checked through the run. Each arm is visually inspected for delamination and voids before packing. Arms can be packed as matched sets so all four or six weigh within a close range. Typical uses include FPV arms, industrial multirotor arms, replacement spares and prototype airframes.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Can you copy an existing drone arm?

Yes, if you send a sample or measurements we can redraw the arm, but a DXF or STEP file from the frame designer is faster and more accurate. Provide the motor-mount pattern, attachment hole positions and sheet thickness, and we will confirm the drawing before cutting.

Are flat carbon arms or carbon tubes better?

Flat plate arms are simpler, cheaper and easy to replace, which is why FPV frames use them. Tubes give higher bending and torsional stiffness per gram on long arms for larger industrial multirotors. For arms over roughly 200 mm, tube designs are worth considering.

How do I get a quote for cnc machined 3k carbon fiber uav drone arm?

Send a 3D model (STEP or IGES) and a 2D drawing with tolerances, material, finish and quantity through the quote form or by email. An engineer replies within 24 hours on business days with price, lead time and any DFM suggestions.
