Injection Molds & Plastic Parts

Plastic Injection Molded Household Product Parts

These are injection molded plastic parts for household products, such as appliance housings, containers, lids, handles, hooks and organizer parts. They are molded in ABS, PP, PC, PS, PVC and other plastics, in custom colors. Molds are typically designed for 300,000–500,000 shots, and orders start from about 100 pieces. They suit household brands needing reliable plastic parts.

Manufacturing

How we make this part

Process, material options and inspection for plastic injection molded household product parts.

Production starts with mold design and building, then sampling and color matching. Once approved, parts are molded on injection presses with controlled temperature, pressure and cycle time to keep dimensions stable. Secondary operations such as trimming, assembly, ultrasonic welding or printing can be added. Consistent process parameters keep parts uniform from shot to shot.

PP is flexible, chemical resistant and good for containers and living hinges. ABS is tough and paints well, used for housings. PC is clear and impact resistant. PS is low cost for rigid parts, and PVC suits some flexible or weather-resistant parts. Color is added by masterbatch, and textures or high-gloss surfaces are created by the mold finish.

First-article parts are measured and checked for color, flash and sink marks, and in-process inspections monitor dimensions and appearance during production. Critical dimensions are checked before shipment, and each carton is labeled with part number and batch for traceability. Typical uses include kitchen containers, appliance covers, storage boxes, hooks, cleaning tool parts and bathroom accessories.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What is the minimum order for injection molded parts?

Once the mold is made, molded orders can start from about 100 pieces, although piece price drops as volume rises because setup time is shared. For very small quantities, CNC machined plastic parts can be more economical than building a mold.

Which plastic is best for kitchen containers?

PP is the most common choice for kitchen containers because it is food-safe in suitable grades, resists chemicals and handles hot water. For food storage, use a food-contact certified grade, and confirm compliance with the regulations in each market where the product will be sold.

How do I get a quote for plastic injection molded household product parts?

Send a 3D model (STEP or IGES) and a 2D drawing with tolerances, material, finish and quantity through the quote form or by email. An engineer replies within 24 hours on business days with price, lead time and any DFM suggestions.
