CNC Milled Anodized Aluminum 108-Key Keyboard Case
This is a CNC milled aluminum case for full-size 108-key and custom mechanical keyboards, with a USB port opening, plate mounting points, weight pocket and feet. It is machined from solid 6063 or 6061 aluminum and finished by bead blasting and anodizing. It is made for keyboard brands and group-buy organizers who need premium cases in batch quantities.

How we make this part
Process, material options and inspection for cnc milled anodized aluminum 108-key keyboard case.
A full-size case is a long, thin part, so flatness after machining is the main challenge. We rough both sides, let the block relax, then finish so internal stress does not twist the case. Mounting posts for top-, gasket- or tray-mount plates are machined with the plate pocket so heights match. The USB cutout and any daughterboard pocket are then cut on the back wall.
6063 anodizes with very even color, which suits cosmetic cases, while 6061 is stronger and slightly more consistent to machine. Bead blasting before anodizing hides tool marks; a brushed or mirror-polished finish suits accent pieces. Brass or stainless steel weights can be machined and fastened to the bottom for heft. Laser engraving adds logos and serial numbers.
Flatness is checked on a surface plate, plate-mount heights are measured, and USB cutouts are test-fitted with the PCB connector. Every case is inspected for cosmetic defects after anodizing under consistent light, and colors are compared to the approved sample. Typical uses include full-size, TKL, 75 % and 65 % keyboard cases, and macro pads.
FAQ
Frequently asked questions
How do you keep a long keyboard case from warping?
We rough both sides with extra stock, let the part release internal stress, and then finish machine with light passes. Clamping is spread across the case to avoid distortion. Flatness is checked on a surface plate before anodizing so the case sits evenly on the desk.
Which aluminum gives the best anodized color on keyboard cases?
6063 generally gives the most even, saturated colors because it has fewer alloying elements than 6061. 6061 still anodizes well and is slightly stronger. For color-critical group buys, we run test pieces and match them to your reference before production.
