CNC Machined Aluminum Alloy Bicycle Components
These are CNC machined aluminum bicycle components such as chainrings, crank arms, hub shells, brake levers, derailleur hangers, seatpost clamps and pedal bodies. Parts are milled and turned from 6061 and 7075 alloys on 3-, 4- and 5-axis machines, then anodized. They suit bicycle component brands and e-bike makers producing custom parts in prototype and production quantities.

Manufacturing
How we make this part
Process, material options and inspection for cnc machined aluminum alloy bicycle components.
Chainrings are profiled on 3-axis mills with tooth shapes cut by form tools or contour paths, then deburred for smooth chain engagement. Crank arms and levers use 4- or 5-axis machining for 3D shapes. Hub shells are turned on CNC lathes, with both bearing bores machined in one setup for alignment. Derailleur hangers are milled from 7075 or 6061 depending on whether stiffness or breakaway is desired.
7075-T6 gives high strength for chainrings and cranks; 6061-T6 is cheaper, more ductile and anodizes more brightly. Anodizing in black, silver, red or blue is typical, with laser-engraved logos. Hard anodizing helps chainring tooth wear. Stainless steel and titanium bolts, axles and spacers can also be machined and supplied to complete assemblies.
Tooth profiles, bearing bores and mounting patterns are checked with gauges and CMM, and critical features are inspected on every lot. Visual inspection ensures uniform anodizing. Typical products include narrow-wide chainrings, crank arms, hub shells, brake lever blades, derailleur hangers, pedal bodies and e-bike motor brackets for road, mountain, gravel and urban bicycles.
FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Why use 7075 aluminum for chainrings?
7075-T6 is much stronger and harder than 6061, so teeth wear more slowly and the ring flexes less under load. It is common in performance chainrings. 6061 is cheaper and suitable for lighter use. Hard anodizing further improves tooth wear resistance.
Can you machine derailleur hangers for specific frames?
Yes, from your drawing or a sample hanger. We machine the profile, mounting holes and thread for the derailleur bolt. Alloy and thickness affect whether the hanger bends to protect the frame, so confirm material choice with the frame designer.
How do I get a quote for cnc machined aluminum alloy bicycle components?
Send a 3D model (STEP or IGES) and a 2D drawing with tolerances, material, finish and quantity through the quote form or by email. An engineer replies within 24 hours on business days with price, lead time and any DFM suggestions.
