5-Axis CNC Milled Aluminum Lighting Components
These are aluminum lighting components produced on 5-axis CNC machines: fixture bodies with curved shapes, reflector housings, swivel arms, yokes and lens rings. Parts are milled from 6061 or 6063, carefully deburred and anodized or painted. They suit lighting designers and brands creating architectural, retail, museum and stage fixtures in small batches, with MOQ starting at one piece.

Manufacturing
How we make this part
Process, material options and inspection for 5-axis cnc milled aluminum lighting components.
Sculpted lighting bodies and angled arms benefit from 5-axis machining, which cuts curved surfaces smoothly and reaches undercuts in one setup. Finishing passes use small step-overs for a fine surface that needs minimal polishing. All edges are deburred carefully, since lighting parts are visible and handled. Threaded joints and pivot holes are machined for smooth adjustment.
6063 gives an excellent anodized appearance and good thermal conductivity; 6061 is stronger for arms and yokes. Anodized black, white or champagne colors are popular for fixtures, and powder coating offers matte or textured finishes. Inner surfaces can be polished for reflectivity or blackened to reduce glare, depending on the optical design.
Visible surfaces are inspected for tool marks and finish uniformity, and fits for lenses, LEDs and joints are checked. Critical dimensions are inspected before packing in protective materials. Typical products include track light bodies, museum spotlights, pendant housings, stage light yokes, wall washers and adjustable arms for architectural lighting projects, produced as single samples or short production runs.
FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Can you anodize lighting parts white?
True white anodizing is difficult because anodizing is translucent; results tend to be off-white or light gray. For pure white, powder coating or painting is better. Black, bronze, champagne and silver are easy to achieve with anodizing and are durable.
How do you avoid visible tool marks on lighting bodies?
We use fine step-overs, sharp finishing tools and 5-axis tool orientation to keep surfaces smooth. Bead blasting before anodizing hides fine marks and gives an even matte look. Highly polished surfaces require extra hand finishing, which we quote separately.
How do I get a quote for 5-axis cnc milled aluminum lighting components?
Send a 3D model (STEP or IGES) and a 2D drawing with tolerances, material, finish and quantity through the quote form or by email. An engineer replies within 24 hours on business days with price, lead time and any DFM suggestions.
