CNC Machined Anodized Aluminum Adapter Plates
These are aluminum adapter plates that connect components with different hole patterns, such as motors to gearboxes, cameras to rigs, or rails to frames. Plates are CNC machined from 6061 aluminum with counterbores, threads and locating features, then anodized, polished, plated or painted. Tolerance is ±0.05 mm standard. They suit engineers who need quick, accurate interface parts.

How we make this part
Process, material options and inspection for cnc machined anodized aluminum adapter plates.
Adapter plates are faced on both sides for parallelism, then drilled, tapped and counterbored in patterns that come from each mating component. Locating spigots or recesses are milled where one component must center on another. When patterns overlap, we check that counterbores and tapped holes do not break into each other. Edges are chamfered, and part numbers or logos can be engraved.
6061-T6 is the standard choice, light and stiff for its weight, and it anodizes evenly in black, silver or colors. Anodizing hardens the surface slightly, reducing marks from repeated mounting. For heavy loads or thermal stability, stainless or steel plates are alternatives. Threads in aluminum can be strengthened with inserts if screws will be changed often.
Hole positions are verified on CMM against both mating patterns, threads are gauged after anodizing, and parallelism is measured on a surface plate. Critical features are 100% inspected before shipment. Typical uses include motor-to-gearbox adapters, camera quick-release plates, linear rail adapters, robot tool flanges and test-bench mounting plates. Revisions are easy, since only the CNC program changes.
FAQ
Frequently asked questions
What information do you need to make an adapter plate?
Ideally a drawing or STEP file. If you do not have one, send the two mating hole patterns, thread sizes, any centering features and the plate thickness. We will produce a drawing for your approval before machining.
Will anodizing affect tapped holes in the plate?
Anodizing slightly tightens threads. We either mask tapped holes during anodizing or chase them afterward, then check each with go/no-go gauges. Specify any holes or faces that need bare metal for grounding, and we will keep them free of coating or spot-face them after finishing.
How do I get a quote for cnc machined anodized aluminum adapter plates?
Send a 3D model (STEP or IGES) and a 2D drawing with tolerances, material, finish and quantity through the quote form or by email. An engineer replies within 24 hours on business days with price, lead time and any DFM suggestions.
