CNC Machined Steel Spline Wheel Nuts and Racing Lug Nuts
These are CNC machined wheel nuts for cars and motorsport, including spline-drive lug nuts, tuner nuts and open- or closed-end racing nuts. They are produced from alloy steel or 7075-T6 aluminum, with 60° conical, ball or flat seats and common metric or imperial threads. They are made for wheel and tuning brands that need custom designs, colors or anti-theft spline patterns.

Manufacturing
How we make this part
Process, material options and inspection for cnc machined steel spline wheel nuts and racing lug nuts.
A lug nut is a safety part, so thread quality and seat geometry come first. We turn the body, seat and thread in one chucking so the seat is concentric with the thread, then mill or broach the spline or hex drive. Spline patterns can be customized so only a matching key fits, which adds theft resistance. Threads are cut to class 6H tolerance or as specified.
Heat-treated alloy steel is the safe choice for road cars because it holds clamping force and resists thread galling. 7075-T6 aluminum nuts are much lighter and popular in motorsport and show cars, but they can stretch or gall with repeated torquing and are typically checked or replaced more often. Steel nuts are zinc or chrome plated; aluminum is hard anodized.
Thread fit is checked with gauges, seat angle and concentricity are measured, and heat-treatment reports confirm the hardness of every batch of steel nuts. Critical dimensions are inspected on every part. Typical products include spline-drive tuner nuts, extended racing nuts, locking wheel nut sets, wheel spacers and hub-centric rings for aftermarket wheels.
FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Are aluminum lug nuts safe for daily driving?
7075 aluminum nuts are used successfully in racing and show cars, but they are softer than steel and can gall or stretch with repeated torque cycles. For daily road use, heat-treated steel nuts are generally safer and more durable. Always follow the wheel maker's torque specification.
Why does the lug nut seat type matter?
The seat is what clamps the wheel to the hub. A 60° conical nut on a ball-seat wheel, or vice versa, touches only on a small line and can loosen. The nut seat must match the wheel's seat type, so tell us which your wheels use.
