CNC Milled Aluminum Appliance Drive Housing and Bracket

These are aluminum drive housings, motor brackets and structural brackets for household appliances, CNC milled from 6061 plate or die-cast blanks. They hold motors, gears and bearings in products such as mixers, coffee machines, robot vacuums and washing equipment. They suit appliance engineers who need accurate prototypes and pilot-run parts before or alongside die-casting tooling.

How we make this part

Process, material options and inspection for cnc milled aluminum appliance drive housing and bracket.

Prototype housings are milled from solid billet to match the die-cast design, including draft angles if needed for later production. Bearing bores, gear center distances and motor mounting faces are machined in one setup. For production, die-cast blanks are finished on CNC mills at the same features, so prototypes and production parts share identical functional geometry.

6061-T6 billet is used for prototypes because it machines quickly and is strong. Die-cast alloys such as ADC12 or A380 are used for production housings, then machined at critical features. Brackets can be made from 5052 sheet. Anodizing, powder coating or painting protects visible parts. Isolating steel fasteners prevents galvanic corrosion in humid kitchen or bathroom appliances.

Gear center distances, bore sizes and motor face flatness are checked at first article and on critical features before packing. Inspection reports support appliance qualification. Typical parts include motor brackets, gearbox housings, pump housings, drive mounts, chassis brackets and heater supports for kitchen, cleaning and personal care appliances, from first prototypes to pilot production.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Can you machine a prototype that matches a future die casting?

Yes. We machine billet prototypes from the die-cast model, including draft angles, ribs and bosses when practical, so the prototype behaves similarly in assembly. Some features, such as thin ribs or deep cores, may be simplified; we note any differences in the quote.

Why machine die-cast appliance housings?

Die casting cannot hold tight tolerances on bearing bores, gear centers and sealing faces, and these surfaces often have porosity or draft. CNC machining finishes them to precise dimensions while the rest of the casting stays as cast, combining low unit cost with functional accuracy.

How do I get a quote for cnc milled aluminum appliance drive housing and bracket?

Send a 3D model (STEP or IGES) and a 2D drawing with tolerances, material, finish and quantity through the quote form or by email. An engineer replies within 24 hours on business days with price, lead time and any DFM suggestions.
