CNC Turned Aluminum Gas Stove and Oven Control Knob

These are CNC turned aluminum control knobs for gas stoves, ovens and range hoods, with a D-shaft or splined bore, knurled or ribbed grip and engraved indicator line. They are machined from 6061 or 6063 aluminum, with brass and stainless options, and finished by anodizing, brushing or plating. They are made for appliance brands and replacement-part suppliers.

How we make this part

Process, material options and inspection for cnc turned aluminum gas stove and oven control knob.

The knob body is turned from bar, with the grip profile, front face and skirt finished in one setup. The shaft bore is then broached or milled to a D-shape or spline so the knob locks onto the valve stem without slipping. Knurling or fine ribs are added for grip, and the indicator line or temperature scale is laser engraved after finishing.

Aluminum is light and stays cooler to the touch than brass but still conducts heat, so knobs near burners often use a plastic or silicone insert at the bore to reduce heat transfer. Brushed or bead-blasted anodizing gives a stainless-look finish that resists fingerprints. Brass knobs with nickel or chrome plating feel heavier and look premium, while stainless versions resist cleaning chemicals.

Bore size and D-flat position are checked on every knob, as a loose fit leads to wobble and a tight fit cracks inserts. Cosmetic surfaces are inspected after anodizing, and engraving alignment with the D-flat is verified. Typical uses include gas cooktops, built-in ovens, range hoods, commercial kitchen equipment and appliance retrofit kits.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Will an aluminum stove knob get too hot to touch?

Aluminum conducts heat, so knobs very close to burners can get warm. Most designs avoid this with a plastic or silicone insert in the bore that breaks the heat path from the valve stem. Location on the appliance and airflow also matter, so we suggest testing a sample on your unit.

Can you make knobs that fit an existing valve stem?

Yes. Send the stem diameter, D-flat depth or spline count and the required engagement length, or a sample stem. We broach the bore to match and test-fit the first article, so the knob seats firmly without excessive force.

How do I get a quote for cnc turned aluminum gas stove and oven control knob?

Send a 3D model (STEP or IGES) and a 2D drawing with tolerances, material, finish and quantity through the quote form or by email. An engineer replies within 24 hours on business days with price, lead time and any DFM suggestions.
