Precision CNC Machined Parts

Precision Brass Turned and Milled Hardware Tool Parts

These are precision brass parts for hand tools and hardware, such as adjusting nuts, ferrules, bushings, valve stems, thumb wheels and tool handle caps. They are CNC turned and milled from brass, then brushed, polished, plated or powder coated. Rapid prototyping is available before batch runs. They are made for tool and hardware brands needing corrosion-resistant, non-sparking brass components.

Manufacturing

How we make this part

Process, material options and inspection for precision brass turned and milled hardware tool parts.

Brass hardware parts are usually short turned parts with knurls, threads or cross holes. We turn them on CNC lathes from round or hex bar, knurl grip surfaces, and add flats or slots on live-tool or milling machines. For new designs, we machine prototypes first so fit, feel and thread engagement can be checked in the actual tool before the batch run is released.

Brass is non-sparking and non-magnetic, which matters in tools for gas, mining or electrical work. It resists corrosion and machines quickly, keeping cost low. Polished or brushed brass looks premium; nickel and chrome plating give a silver finish; powder coating adds color for grip areas. For high-wear parts, bronze or hardened steel may be better choices.

Thread fit, knurl diameter and overall length are checked on the first article and then on critical features of every part. Inspection follows staged QC steps from material receipt to packing. Typical products include tape measure and level components, adjustable wrench worms, plumber tool ferrules, valve stems, file handle ferrules and thumb-adjust wheels.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Why use brass for tool components?

Brass is non-sparking, non-magnetic and corrosion resistant, which makes it suitable for tools used near flammable gases or sensitive electronics. It is also easy to machine, so complex small parts are affordable, and it has a premium appearance when polished.

Can brass parts be powder coated?

Yes. Brass can be powder coated after proper cleaning and pretreatment, which adds color and a softer grip feel. For thin features or threads, we mask surfaces to keep fits. Plating is often preferred where a metallic look or tighter thickness control is required.

How do I get a quote for precision brass turned and milled hardware tool parts?

Send a 3D model (STEP or IGES) and a 2D drawing with tolerances, material, finish and quantity through the quote form or by email. An engineer replies within 24 hours on business days with price, lead time and any DFM suggestions.
