Rapid Prototype CNC Anodized Aluminum and Stainless Parts
This is a fast-turn CNC prototyping service for aluminum and stainless steel parts, finished by anodizing, bead blasting or passivation. Parts are milled and turned from 3D models with quotes usually returned within one business day. It is designed for product teams and engineers who need accurate metal prototypes quickly to test assemblies, run validation or show investors and customers.

Manufacturing
How we make this part
Process, material options and inspection for rapid prototype cnc anodized aluminum and stainless parts.
Speed comes from keeping steps simple: we program from your STEP file, use standard fixtures and soft jaws, and avoid custom tooling. Parts that need both turning and milling move straight from lathe to mill. Anodizing is scheduled in the same week. Design feedback, such as an internal radius too small for standard tools, is sent with the quote.
6061-T6 aluminum is the default for prototypes because it machines fast and anodizes evenly in clear, black or colors. 7075-T6 is used when the prototype must match strength targets. 304 and 303 stainless prototypes cost more due to slower machining but test corrosion and strength properly. Bead blasting before anodizing gives a matte, fingerprint-resistant surface.
Prototypes are checked on the critical dimensions you mark, and a basic inspection report is available. Typical delivery is around 3–7 working days depending on complexity and finish. Engineers use these parts for design verification, assembly trials, test fixtures, small pilot builds, marketing photography samples and investor demonstration units before tooling is ordered.
FAQ
Frequently asked questions
How fast can you deliver an anodized aluminum prototype?
For straightforward parts, around 3–7 working days including anodizing is typical, plus express shipping time. Complex parts or many pieces take longer. Sending a STEP file with a drawing that marks critical dimensions speeds quoting and programming. We confirm the delivery date with the quote.
Will the prototype match the later production part?
If production will also be CNC machined, yes, closely; the same material, program and finish can be reused. If production will be die cast or molded, the prototype represents shape and fit but not exactly the surface or internal properties. We can note features that will change in the production process.
How do I get a quote for rapid prototype cnc anodized aluminum and stainless parts?
Send a 3D model (STEP or IGES) and a 2D drawing with tolerances, material, finish and quantity through the quote form or by email. An engineer replies within 24 hours on business days with price, lead time and any DFM suggestions.
