Color Anodized Bent Aluminum Sheet Metal Enclosure Box
This is a custom aluminum enclosure box made from 5052 sheet by laser cutting, CNC bending and welding, then color anodized in black, silver, red, blue or other shades. Panel cutouts, ventilation patterns and press-in fasteners are added to your design, with ±0.05 mm on machined features. It suits electronics, audio and instrument brands that want a light, colored enclosure at lower cost than machining from solid.

How we make this part
Process, material options and inspection for color anodized bent aluminum sheet metal enclosure box.
Bent enclosures are typically two U-shaped halves or a five-sided box with a lid. Seams are either welded and ground for a seamless look or fastened for easy access. Because anodizing shows every scratch, sheets are kept under protective film through cutting and bending, and tooling is chosen to avoid marking. Cutouts for displays, buttons and connectors are laser cut and deburred.
5052 aluminum bends well, but it anodizes to a slightly duller, less uniform color than 6061 extrusions or machined parts, and welded zones may anodize darker. If perfect color uniformity is critical, powder coating is a reliable alternative. Brushing or bead-blasting before anodizing improves appearance and hides minor marks. Silk-screen or laser marking adds labels after coating.
Enclosures are fit-checked with lids and panels at first article, cutout positions are verified, and color is compared to approved samples. Each enclosure is visually inspected for scratches after anodizing. Critical dimensions are 100% inspected. Typical uses include amplifier cases, instrument boxes, power-supply housings, router enclosures and DIY electronics kits.
FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Why does my anodized sheet-metal box look different from a machined one?
5052 sheet alloy anodizes to a slightly different, often less vivid tone than 6061, and welded areas may darken. For an exact cosmetic match between sheet and machined parts, consider powder coating both or using 6061 sheet with larger bend radii.
Can you print logos and labels on the enclosure?
Yes. Silk-screen printing gives sharp, colored text and logos, while laser engraving removes the anodize layer to show bright aluminum underneath. Both are applied after finishing. Send vector artwork with positions marked on the drawing.
How do I get a quote for color anodized bent aluminum sheet metal enclosure box?
Send a 3D model (STEP or IGES) and a 2D drawing with tolerances, material, finish and quantity through the quote form or by email. An engineer replies within 24 hours on business days with price, lead time and any DFM suggestions.
