Laser Cut Brass, Aluminum and Stainless Sheet Metal Parts

These are sheet metal parts in brass, aluminum and stainless steel produced by laser cutting, bending and welding, finished by anodizing, polishing or plating as suited to each metal. Tolerances of ±0.05 mm are held on machined features. They are for designers who need decorative or conductive sheet parts, like brass nameplates, busbars or trims, alongside standard aluminum and stainless parts.

How we make this part

Process, material options and inspection for laser cut brass, aluminum and stainless sheet metal parts.

Brass and copper reflect laser light strongly, so they are cut on fiber lasers set up for reflective metals, with nitrogen assist for clean edges. Bending brass needs attention to grain direction to avoid cracking on tight radii. Aluminum and stainless follow standard laser and press-brake routes. Where parts combine metals, such as brass inlays on stainless panels, they are produced separately and assembled.

Brass H62 sheet has a warm gold color, solders well and conducts electricity, making it useful for nameplates, contacts and decorative trim; it tarnishes unless lacquered or plated. Aluminum is light and anodizes in colors. Stainless steel is strong and corrosion-resistant with brushed or mirror finishes. Each material carries different cost and lead time, which we quote per item.

Parts are checked at first article for profile, bend angles and hole positions, and finishes are inspected visually under good light. Critical dimensions are 100% inspected. Common uses include brass nameplates and trims, copper and brass busbars, aluminum covers, stainless brackets, lighting reflectors and decorative architectural panels for interiors and retail fit-outs.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Can brass sheet be laser cut cleanly?

Yes, with a fiber laser configured for reflective metals and nitrogen assist gas, brass cuts with clean edges suitable for decorative or electrical use. Very thick brass cuts more slowly. A light deburr or polish after cutting gives a finished edge.

Why does bent brass sometimes crack?

Brass sheet can crack on the outside of a tight bend, especially when bending parallel to the rolling grain or in harder tempers. We orient parts so bends cross the grain where possible and use an adequate inside radius for the temper and thickness.

How do I get a quote for laser cut brass, aluminum and stainless sheet metal parts?

Send a 3D model (STEP or IGES) and a 2D drawing with tolerances, material, finish and quantity through the quote form or by email. An engineer replies within 24 hours on business days with price, lead time and any DFM suggestions.
